So, I show you something relates to adobe Illustrator here.
I am an adobe Illustrator lover ( or I was because I had not touched it almost one year).
Almost all the time I use Illustrator when I design something.
YouTube video: uploaded by pfltuts/ Adobe Illustrator Logo Design
He seems to explain how to make logo with adobe Illustrator ( since it's exam, I could not listen to what he's saying so not 100% sure).
The author has own website for tutoring design which is called PixelForLife.com
I used to learn how to use adobe Illustrator and now forgot how it works...I only remember the basic things.
For some of the storytelling assignments, I used adobe Illustrator and I realize how much I lost the skills. I think I should watch and read his video and articles to get the skills back!!!
CC licensed picture of Adobe Illustrator:uploaded by Gambarrott/ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR SPLASHES
This picture is basically about the design of each version of adobe Illustrator. I don't know how many versions of Illustrator has adobe sold...but a lot. This picture is interesting to see for me because I have used some of them in the past. Now I am using adobe CS4 which is the previous version. Adobe Illustrator is a cool software except the price. It is very expensive even student version so that I cannot afford to buy CS5, the latest one.
Blog Links:
Real World Illustrator (tutoring for skills of adobe Illustrator)
Inside Adobe Illustrator (Adobe's blog about their products)
Creating Road Maps in Adobe Illustrator (as the name of the blog explains, making map with adobe illustrator)
They all are about adobe Illustrator and design things.
I believe sharing those skills is great and I love reading and watching these things though it's sometimes hard to get the skill for me. It should be good for people who are learning design, especially graphic design things.
A lot of adobe Illustrator users have own way to use it, and sometimes it's good to know how other users make design. You can learn new ways and new things that even Adobe does not know.
I'm personally a fan of Photoshop over Illustrator myself but I think this is a very unique interpretation of the topic :P In more than one way as well since you're talking about the program that people use to create these design works, rather than a finished product

返信削除I know some people prefer photoshop rather than illustrator and making great works with it!
ahh I wish I could use photoshop well.
I love the way you interpreted the midterm practical activity. I think it's great that instead focusing on a particular ds106 assignment, you looked at the main tool you would use in completing your design assignments.
返信削除What is so valuable about this post is that it will point someone who needs to figure out Illustrator (me for example) to some useful resources.
As you know my preference is to work link to other sites into the text of a paragraph. But sometimes we need to do it as a list - they way you've arranged your list of links to blogs is great: name of the site and a brief summary!
The only criticism, in terms of the midterm, is that you didn't provide the links to the photo, photographer and cc license in the attribution of the photo you included.
