The Internet is a great tool to share information with people around the world. These days, people share a lot of things such as their music, art works and so on. Some people show their skills of cooking, make-up, exercise and a lot of other things, and you can learn those from their tutoring videos. A lot of people have become famous from YouTube and some other video sharing website. On the other hand, some people have had very bad incidents because of their videos even though they had not done anything wrong. Sharing your abilities and skills on the Internet could give you a great opportunity, yet also it could cause bad situation.
There are many people who have had succeeded to build career on YouTube. An American girl, Michelle Phan is one of the successful people on YouTube. She's an art student who has strong passion to make-up. She's been uploaded many make-up tutoring videos on YouTube. Since she has great ability, and a lot of people love her and subscribe her videos( Right now 1,688,664 people are subscribing her videos), a very popular cosmetic brand, LANCOM Paris offered her to collaborate. She also sells her own skin care cosmetics at iQQU Beauty.com. She did a great job for this project. Isn't it a great success?
There is another one who seems successful on YouTube. Her YouTube name is Binosusume(美のすすめ), the way of beauty. She does not talk about herself, she doesn't even show her face. She has a lot of hair-make up tutorial videos on her channel. Even though she speaks in only Japanese, a lot of non-Japanese people watch her videos too because so many people comment on her video in English.
Now, 138858 people are subscribing her channel.
Not only positive side but also there is negative side of the Internet. Rebecca Black's case is one of the big problems on the Internet. She was a normal girl who wants to be a singer, so she made a promotion video for her own song. It's posted on YouTube, then it became very famous in negative way. She have got a lot of negative comments on her song, Friday. Since it was very shocking, it became a big issue and ABC news companies interviewed her. In the interview, she says she was shocked by those negative comments and crying. She became famous, but it's not the way she wanted. Right now she seems to start having positive opinion about what happened to her because that thing made her famous around the world. Yet still it was not something good or positive.
Because I am Japanese, I guess I should also add something negative about on the Internet in Japan.
There were some stupid college students who had a project as ドブスを守る会, "act for protecting very urgly girls". But they did not want to protect ugly girls, they just wanted to make funny video and magazines with those girls' picture. This was a kind of big news at the time. I am so sorry I could not find proper news article or English website which describes this situation, but I have a source here. Those college students took some video of girls who are not good looking. They uploaded the video on YouTube (it's gone now) without permission of those girls . Also this news article says they wanted to take funny video with people who have disabilities on their bodies. They did not even hide the girls' faces! I found some videos that related to this thing. Because the person who uploaded this video wanted to protect the girls' the right to their portraits, it's covered with mosaic. After some people watched this video, they got angry and called their college, and the students got kicked out from their school, 首都大学. It was happened because of their lack of moral.

While one girl becomes famous in positive way, one girl becomes famous in very negative way. The Internet could help you to success, but it also could cause you trouble. Before you post something on YouTube, you have to think of not only success but also the risk. When you post something on the Internet, you have to be aware that your post could cause something very shocking. Also you have to think of what is commenting could hurt someone badly. Posting something is easy, but you have to think of responsibility for it. Internet is no longer just a tool to share something positive. There are always many people who would do something negative. However, still the Internet gives you opportunity to show your skills and abilities. There are positive and negative side of the Internet, and you have to understand it if you want to use it.
Thank you for coming to my blog! My English grammar sucks and writing is totally unorganized and complicated. Please do not mad at my writing >< I try my BEST!!!!! Sometimes I might not able to answer your questions if you ask me about my blog coz even I do not often understand what I write!

Weekly Blog#4 Malware
I'd like to talk about Malware since I have experienced it on facebook and MSN messenger.
Let me tell you about my experiences of Malware first ( because I think you already know about Malware).
Case I
One day I got a message from my friend on facebook, and it says "you gotta watch this video! it's so funny XD" or something like that.
I didn't doubt anything about it since it doesn't sound weird for me.
Then, suddenly same kind of messages were sent to almost all of my friends on facebook.
So, I posted a message like " Do not open the video that is sent from me, because it's virus. I am so sorry about that".
Then, I told my friend who sent the message to me ( he didn't send it on purpose though...) about the situation.
He didn't even know what was happening.
Case II
The next one happened to my MSN messenger account.
One day I got a message with URL which says " this is your picture! you look hilarious :P" or whatever.
Again, I didn't doubt anything at all and click it, and same kind of message spread out.
Okay, now you can call me an IDIOT or say バカスwww.
Anyways, so one of my friends told me that that is virus and I have to change the password.
I love her so much.
After that, I got same kind of things many times and I never opened it.
Some of my friends complained that too many people kept sending that stupid messages which is annoying. It hurt my ears.
Now I no longer use MSN messenger, I just prefer Skype.
Case III
It is not something Malware did to me directly, but...
One day my friend suddenly called me and said "I got computer virus. Can you help me with that?".
He did not use anti-virus software ( or he did not even know about it).
I am not that knowledgeable about computers, so I called another friend whose major is engineering, and asked some help. He and I went to my stupid friend's house around 8pm or something and checked what's going on the computer.
I guess my friend used Avast for that.
It took for a while and everything was done around 11:30pm.
It happened on Sunday and I had an early morning class next day.
I didn't finish my homework so I could not sleep that night because of the stupid virus and friend.
Also I had to apologize my nice friend who removed the virus from the computer for the idiot.
What I learn from these experiences
So, before I click doubtful URLs, I try to check if the website is safe or not.
You can check it from this website; gred でチェック
Sorry it's in Japanese and I don't know any of this kind of English website.
Type (or copy and paste )the URL in the bar which is located top of the page.
Click the red button saying " check",wait for a few seconds, and if the website is safe gred says "safe".
However, this website cannot find all of the bad programs since finding all of bad programs is almost impossible...
It just helps you to avoid those bad websites.
So, if you got that bad sort of programs, change the password of SNS, remove the virus from your computer or throw your computer from your window and never touch any computer again.
I strongly recommend you to get anti-virus software.
Some people say they are fine so they don't use it. Yea, they are maybe fine, but THEIR FRIENS ARE NOT FINE with it, like what my stupid friend did to me on Sunday evening.
I recommend Mac users to have anti-virus software too.
I know most of virus are for windows, but there is still possibility.
Here is my questions for final; You don't need to change your password when you get a Malware at a SNS. True or False.
....It doesn't really relate to the topic, but I heard one rumor ; guys get computer virus more often than girls because of porn ( a lot of porn videos on the Internet often contain virus).
Also I heard another rumor that if a guy gets a computer virus, it's 90% because of porn or something sexual.
Is that true?

Weekly Blog#3
Timmmmyboy assignment.
So, Tim Owen's talks about his background and idea of being artist.
He thinks any kind of people are artists, no matter what is their major.
Your life is full of art and creative things, and ds106 is a good chance to improve your creativity.
I like his phrase "People are more creative when they are hungry", that's funny.
However, I want to be just an audience rather than artist.
I used to learn art seriously, yet one day I realized that I like art, but I don't want to be an artist or designer.
I just love to see artworks at a museum. That's me.
Still sometimes I enjoy drawing, yet I don't want to think myself an artist.
I like cooking and making dishes pretty, I love wearing make up which probably Mr.Owen thinks art.
Yet these don't make me feel like I'm an artist.
I'd rather think myself as an audience.

Video Essay
So, this essay should be about movies or audio commentary, but since I have personal reason to love this video, I want to talk about it.
This video is about Kimi Raikkonen who used to be an F1 driver.
He was a great driver, especially in Suzuka circuit 2005.
In the race, he started in the end of the line and won the race!
I was watching the race there around chicane corner with my father.
I cannot forget the excitement!
He couldn't go ahead from his rival until the final lap, but he was calm all the time.
He never got upset. He quietly made the distance between him and his rival shorter.
When he finally went ahed from his rival in the final lap, every audience stood up.
The moment was so great that I cannot explain in words!!!!!

Google Map Story
This place is my favorite Ramen Store Hongo-Tei. Probably the most famous ramen store in Nagoya.
It is located behind Nagoya station.
The inside doesn't really look like ramen store because a lot of Hawaiian things are displayed (I don't know why).
2 years ago I went there with my boyfriend and a lot of guys in suites and college boys were there without their girl friends.
Their eyes were NOT warm at all when we came in the store lol
The A mark on the map is the place of Hongo-Tei.

Mid-term Exam
I choose "design" for This topic.
So, I show you something relates to adobe Illustrator here.
I am an adobe Illustrator lover ( or I was because I had not touched it almost one year).
Almost all the time I use Illustrator when I design something.
YouTube video: uploaded by pfltuts/ Adobe Illustrator Logo Design
He seems to explain how to make logo with adobe Illustrator ( since it's exam, I could not listen to what he's saying so not 100% sure).
The author has own website for tutoring design which is called PixelForLife.com
I used to learn how to use adobe Illustrator and now forgot how it works...I only remember the basic things.
For some of the storytelling assignments, I used adobe Illustrator and I realize how much I lost the skills. I think I should watch and read his video and articles to get the skills back!!!
CC licensed picture of Adobe Illustrator:uploaded by Gambarrott/ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR SPLASHES

This picture is basically about the design of each version of adobe Illustrator. I don't know how many versions of Illustrator has adobe sold...but a lot. This picture is interesting to see for me because I have used some of them in the past. Now I am using adobe CS4 which is the previous version. Adobe Illustrator is a cool software except the price. It is very expensive even student version so that I cannot afford to buy CS5, the latest one.
Blog Links:
Real World Illustrator (tutoring for skills of adobe Illustrator)
Inside Adobe Illustrator (Adobe's blog about their products)
Creating Road Maps in Adobe Illustrator (as the name of the blog explains, making map with adobe illustrator)
They all are about adobe Illustrator and design things.
I believe sharing those skills is great and I love reading and watching these things though it's sometimes hard to get the skill for me. It should be good for people who are learning design, especially graphic design things.
A lot of adobe Illustrator users have own way to use it, and sometimes it's good to know how other users make design. You can learn new ways and new things that even Adobe does not know.

Movie Fortunes
「1たす1が、1より小さいとは、ボク思わない!」
"I don't think 1+1 would be less than 1!!!!!!" by Nobita Nobi
An anime movie "ドラえもん のび太の太陽王伝説”, Nobita and the Legend of the Sun King.
When a King is trying to duel with two guys, the main character, Nobita offers to help him but he rejects Nobita. So Nobita shouts at him that phrase and then the king changes his decision and accepts Nobita's offer.
This phrase is very touchy and beautiful.
It's just from an anime movie, but I still love it.
I think the movie tells children about importance of friendship with that phrase which is good.

Car Lust
I got this image from a blog 我が日ス輪は永久に不滅です!written by み・そ・じ
This car is Impreza STI of SUBARU( WRX STI specC typeRA-R).
There are some versions of Impreza, and this version's Japanese nickname is 涙目(tear eyes).
I just love the blue color of SUBARU and the tear eyes.
I also love the butt♥so cute!
I got this picture from BLUE ZERO~山形から発信~ Don’t forget to try in mind written by zero-1128.
This version's design is so girly for me, so STI is a GIRL! ( for me, lancer evolution and GTR are guys).
It's a kind of small, very round and cute design. And the blue is so attractive and the gold wheels are just perfect color for it.
It's not a super expensive or powerful car like Ferrari or Lamborghini, yet I just love the design.
ds 106 ClouDoraemonchu
The blue boy's name is Doraemon, the main character of an anime.
Needless to say, "Pica-chu" is the voice of the Pikachu, the popular Pokemon.
If you don't know about Cloud Strife, click here to jump wikipedia.
I used adobe Photoshop CS4 to this assignment.
ds106...?
I am totally lost so far but trying to figure out what I have to do.
I kinda made a design and I have no idea if it works for the assignment or not.
Here is my design;
I kinda made a design and I have no idea if it works for the assignment or not.
Here is my design;
It shows playing Mario; game controller represents video game obviously, the mushroom in the game, the Piranha Plant (パックンフラワー in Japanese), and the crown shows the princess, Peach that he saves in the story.
I used adobe illustrator CS4 to this assignment.

FAN-Pop Culture Group Topic-
◆◇FAN◇◆
For this presentation, my group picks AKB48 as the topic because lately they have extremely succeeded and you can see their ads everywhere anytime.
AKB48 is a female idol group which is produced by Yasuo Akimoto.
They are well known about their songs Ai Ta Katta(会いたかった) and Heavy Lotation(ヘビーローテーション).
You can watch their performance at AKB theatre in Akihabara, the top of the building of Don Quixote .
They seem to be very popular, yet they also seem to have some troubles with their own fans.
It probably because of their system of the position; AKB members have to get popularity to get higher position. Only high position members can show up on the TV, the music video, commersials and so on.
Some girls who could not be very popular were already fired by the producer.
So, some evil fans spread negative rumors of the members for getting down the popularity of high position members and raise their favorite members' position.
For example, one of the most well known members, Tomomi Itano(板野友美)has an awful rumor.
On the Internet, people often talk about she has had cosmetic surgery a lot.
This picture is often used when people talk about her face.
Those websites introduce that kind of cases (sorry they are all in Japanese)
http://news4vip.livedoor.biz/archives/51792371.html
http://news4vip.livedoor.biz/archives/51792492.html
Conclusion;
Personally I am not a fan of AKB48. In fact I know only few names of the members.
Because they're lately extremely popular, and the fans often do something too much or too bad, I think it's a kind of big issue.
AKB members are not doing something bad, but since they are very popular they get more attentions and troubles from people.

Another bad story is here; AKB48's fans buy tons of the same CDs which seems to creat fake popularity.
Some people upload pictures on the Internet that they bought too many same CDs.Those websites introduce that kind of cases (sorry they are all in Japanese)

The reason wy they buy so many same CDs is, the CDs have a ticket to vote the favorite member.
AKB48 often counts the popularity of each members, and one of the ways to count the popularity is giving a ticket to vote each CD and fans vote for the favorite member.
Because the fans want to raise their favorite members' position, they buy CDs a lot and vote many times.

POP-CULTURE
Definition of POP-CULTURE
My definition of POP-CULTURE is youth culture, culture that exists currently like within 10 or 20 years or culture that is not traditional.
Anime could be one of the Japanese pop culture for me because mostly the funs of anime are young people.
JAPANESE POP-CULTURE and BROADCASTING WEBSITES
Recently, some of broadcasting websites show some anime, such as
ニコニコ動画
Gyao
. anime
You probably watch anime on TV, but you might sometimes miss for some reasons.
Before those website exist, what you have to do is looking for your friend who recorded it.
Now, you just need to go to those websites and look for what you miss.
After the anime had broadcasted on the TV, it also would be broadcasted on those websites for free for a week.
After the free term, you have to pay for it.
Ustream is right now trying new thing.
From this spring, they have been broadcasting an anime TIGER&BUNNY.
Unlike other websites, you cannot watch the anime everyday on Ustream.
They're broadcasting it every Saturday night like other normal anime does on TV every week which is still new thing.
And, it's not directly related to this topic, but in this anime one of the character, SKY-HIGH has the logo of Ustream.
TIGER&BUNNY is a pretty unique anime; each main character has sponsor logos.
The main character has SOFTBANK's logo, and his partner has BANDAI's logo.
One of the sub characters, ORIGAMI CYCLON had only one spensor , . anime , when the anime have begun, but now he has TAKASU CLINIC and LIVEDOOR's logos too since he's became somehow one of the most popular characters!

According to an article, Inventors of the Modern Computer, written by Mary Bells, one of the most famous products that he's created is MOUSE.
This picture is the first mouse.
The first mouse has only one button. Also Mac mouse used to have only one button though....
Bells writes "In 1964, the first prototype computer mouse was made to use with a graphical user interface(GUI), 'windows'".
Windows is actually invented by Engelbert too.
Since he has done great works for the computer, he won Lemelson-MIT Prize of $ 500,000 in 1997.
In the next year, National Investors Hall of Fame lists his name in it in 1998.
Recently he has his own institute that is founded by his daughter, Christina Engelbart which called DOUG ENGELBART INSTITUTE.
The website says that the purpose is their organization is "Our mission is to accelerate progress toward this goal through broad-based collaboration, education, outreach, consulting, and hands on exploratory implementations. See Doug's call to action inAugmenting Society's Collective IQ and Bootstrap "Paradigm Map", with practical pointers and toolkits on our Bootstrapping Innovationresources page."

History of the Internet
Some words in orange color are the hyperlinks.
The first time I used the Internet was like 12 or 13 years ago.
I made my first email address from Hotmail which I no longer use.
According to an article "The History of The Internet" written by Cameron Chapman, "Email was first developed in 1971 by Ray Tomlinson, who also made the decision to use the "@" symbol to separate the user name from the computer name (which later on became the domain name)."
So, email is about 16 years older than me.
Now Gmail seems to be very popular for me, and I love it.
A lot of Universities and colleges, companies and some other organizations use gmail which has their original domains after@.
TUJ address is exactly one of them because it's basically gmail but has original domain which is "@temple.edu".
One of the reasons I love gmail is I can use gmail with some mail application such as "Mail"of Mac computer and iPhone.
I have a Macbook and iPhone, and I normally use gmail from the Mail application so that I don't need to open the web browser and type my account name and password all the time.
You can use either IMAP and POP with gmail.
I prefer IMAP because if you read a new message from one of such devises, the message is no longer "new message" in any devises.
However, if it's POP the message is still "new" even you already read it from other devise and the Mail application keeps telling you that you have "new message"which is very annoying for me.
Emoticons
I don't remember when the first time I used emoticons, but at least I already used it when I was 15 years old.
According to the same article, "While many people credit Kevin MacKenzie with the invention of the emoticon in 1979, it was Scott Fahlman in 1982 who proposed using :-) after a joke, rather than the original -) proposed by MacKenzie. The modern emoticon was born."
I see some differences between Western and Japanese emoticons.
Western ones are like :) and XD.
Japanese ones are like (´・ω・`) and (*`ω´)
And in Japan, we have
this kind of emoticons that is called "Asky Art" or just "AA" in Japanese.
And some of Japanese emotions have names.
For example, my favorite one (´・ω・`) is called "shobon", ショボーン or ショボン in Japanese.
It shows some feeling such as sadness, depression and disappointment.
Here, I introduce some popular AA characters which have names.
内藤ホライゾン or ブーン ( ^ω^) Naito Horizon or Boon
ドクオ ('A`) Dokuo
シャキン (`・ω・´) Shakin
_
ジョルジュ長岡 ( ゚∀゚) Jhoru-Ju Nagaoka
杉浦ロマネスク ( ФωФ) Sugiura Romanesuku
兄者 ( ´_ゝ`) Anija( older brother)
弟者 (´<_` ) Otoja(younger brother)
モナー ( ´∀`) Monah
モララー ( ・∀・) Morarah
ギコ猫 ( ゚Д゚) Giko-cat
フサギコ ミ ゚Д゚彡 Fusa-giko
しぃ (*゚ー゚) Shi
つー (*゚∀゚) Tsu
斉藤またんき (・∀ ・)Saito Matanki
Those characters are often used when some people write their own novels which called Boon Novels(ブーン系小説).
by ブーン系小説顔文字
Now you can see some products of those emoticons.
I do own one of the most popular products, shobon cushion.
You can also see those cushions in my dailyshoot assignment pictures.
